Next Gen Leadership
Travel Awards
Travel grants that bring students and early-career researchers to an AGBT meeting, and the researchers who have received them.

Cost can be a barrier for students and early-career scientists who want to attend AGBT meetings.
The Next Gen Leadership Travel Awards help remove that barrier by supporting promising graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, medical students, and early-career researchers from around the world. AGBT offers ten awards at each meeting, covering registration, lodging, and eligible travel expenses so recipients can attend at no cost. Awardees have the opportunity to give a short talk, share their research, and connect with leading scientists across the AGBT community. The applications open with the call for abstracts for each meeting.
Why AGBT funds this
AGBT is organized by The Genome Partnership, a not-for-profit whose mission is to advance research, promote education, and expand commerce in genome science and technology. The Next Gen Leadership Awards put that mission into action by investing directly in the next generation of scientists. The awards are funded by AGBT meetings and the organizations that sponsor them.
