The Genome Partnership is a not-for-profit organization and its mission is to advance research, promote education and expand commerce in genome science and technology.
What a 501(c)(6) is
The Genome Partnership is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit, the classification the tax code gives to organizations formed to advance a shared professional or business field rather than to return money to an owner. Business leagues and professional associations sit in the same category. No net earnings go to any private shareholder or individual.
Our community members are the people who attend the meetings. Scientists working to end disease and feed the world, and the companies building the technologies that let them succeed.
