A significant portion of every AGBT scientific program is shaped by the research our community submits. Abstract submission is your opportunity to share your work and be considered for the program.
Featured speakers are invited. Additional talks are selected from submitted abstracts, with further research featured in the poster sessions. Emerging researchers may also apply for support to attend and present through the Next Gen Leadership Awards.
An abstract for a talk
Submit your latest research for consideration for a place on the scientific program. Abstracts are peer reviewed by the Scientific Organizing Committee for the meeting to which you apply.

Poster sessions are an important part of every AGBT meeting, creating opportunities to share new research, exchange ideas, and start collaborations. Abstracts not selected for a talk may be considered for poster presentation.

A travel award supporting emerging researchers to attend and present at AGBT. Recipients introduce themselves and their research to the full meeting through a short talk.

than one
The General Meeting receives a highly competitive pool of abstracts each year. Research that is not selected there may also be well suited to AGBT Agriculture or AGBT Precision Health, where it can reach a community particularly engaged with its applications.
When you submit, you can indicate whether you would like your abstract considered for another AGBT meeting if it is not selected for your first choice. You can also register your interest in the other meetings at the same time.
Many areas of genomics span more than one AGBT meeting. The best fit often depends on the application and audience for the work.

Abstract submission and the application to attend run through the AGBT registration system. You will need your abstract text, your affiliation, and the names of your co-authors. Submissions for the 2027 General Meeting open Sept. 24, 2026.
