What happens at the General Meeting

For more than two decades, the AGBT General Meeting has brought together leading researchers, scientific leaders, and technology innovators to share advances across the broad landscape of genomics and genomic technologies.

Daytime plenary sessions feature invited speakers and abstract-selected talks highlighting cutting-edge research. Evening concurrent sessions provide a deeper dive into biology, technology, computational biology and AI, cancer, and other emerging areas of genomics.

Scientific exchange extends well beyond the stage. Dedicated networking and sponsor social events bring together leaders from across the genomics community, creating opportunities for meaningful connections and conversations throughout the meeting.

Approximately 1,050 attendees are expected for the 2027 General Meeting, based on meeting room capacity. Applications to attend open Sept. 24, 2026, and acceptance is not automatic. Prospective attendees are encouraged to apply early and, once accepted, register promptly to secure their place.
