Krishna Niyogi

Kris Niyogi is an HHMI Investigator and Distinguished Professor in the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology at UC-Berkeley, an Investigator at the Innovative Genomics Institute, and a Faculty Senior Scientist in the Molecular Biophysics and Integrated Bioimaging Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His lab studies photosynthesis in algae and plants. He joined the faculty at UC-Berkeley after graduate studies at the University of Cambridge and MIT and postdoctoral training at the Carnegie Institution. He has been elected as a Fellow of AAAS and the National Academy of Sciences. He teaches undergraduate courses in General Biology and Algal Biology and a graduate course in Plant and Microbial Photosynthesis.
